Communities In Schools of Detroit (CIS) is a local affiliate of the nation's leading community-based organization helping kids succeed in school and prepare for life.

Communities In Schools of Detroit champions the connection of needed community resources with schools to help young people successfully learn, stay in school, and prepare for life.

CIS works with each of its partner schools to understand the unmet needs of its students and the challenges of the school community.  With this information, CIS works tirelessly to develop partnerships with community and faith-based organizations, corporations, and caring individuals to meet those needs. CIS is the vital link between schools and the community.

Eastbound I-94 (Ford Freeway)

From Metropolitan Airport/Lower West Side, Take Eastbound I-94 to VanDyke, turn right

Turn right again at Hendrie (at the end of the Kettering High School playfields)

Proceed to dead-end at Field, turn right

Proceed to Medbury, turn right to parking lot

Westbound I-94 (Ford Freeway)

From Eastside Detroit/Northeast Suburbs, Take Westbound I-94 to VanDyke, turn left

Turn right at Hendrie (at the end of the Kettering High School playfields)

Proceed to dead-end at Field, turn right

Proceed to Medbury, turn right to parking lot

Southbound M-10 (Lodge Freeway)  *Note Lodge Construction

From Northwest Detroit/Northwest Suburbs, Take Southbound M-10 to Eastbound I-94
